INTERVIEW: Cubs Fischer using final season as ‘gift’
MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Cubs’ march towards a provincial championship officially begins.
Dave Kowalchuk, general manager and president of hockey operations, announced the local squad won the bid to host the 2020 Hockey Alberta Junior B Championship next April on Thursday night.
Eight of the best teams in Alberta, representing five Junior B leagues, will contend for the province’s top prize at the Kinplex from April 2-5.
For Mason Fischer, striking gold on home ice would be the perfect send-off to a long-standing career in junior hockey.
