Cubs to host Heritage Junior Hockey League Provincials

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Cubs will play host to the Heritage Junior Hockey League Provincials next year.

The league and the Cubs made the announcement Tuesday evening on Twitter.

The tournament, presented by ATB Financial, will run from April 2-5 at the Kinplex.

The HJHL says the Blackfalds Wranglers were originally set to host provincials, however the team moved to Sylvan Lake in the off-season. The league reopened the bidding, with five teams, including the Cubs submitting bids.

The team will provide additional information during a press conference tonight at 7 p.m. at the HomeStay Inn and Suites.

The Cubs kick off the regular season on Friday, travelling to Airdrie to take on the Thunder. The game begins at 8 p.m.
