MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat College Rattlers got an introduction to one of the newest schools to enter the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association on Saturday.

Returning to Rattlers Field after a pair of wins on Friday night in Calgary against the Ambrose University Lions, the Rattlers men’s and women’s soccer teams played exhibition games against the newly formed Canadian Mennonite University Blazers.

Grace Porter had the lone goal for the MHC women in a 1-1 draw with the Blazers, while the Rattlers men’s team also played to a 1-1 score in the late game.

Abdou Raouf Mohamed scored for the Rattlers on Saturday, picking up his seventh goal in just his last three games.

Even with Saturday’s exhibition games factored in, the Rattlers soccer teams have lost just once in eight combined games dating back to the season openers on September 7.

The Rattlers will hit the road again next weekend with stops in Calgary against the SAIT Trojans and Olds College, before returning to Medicine Hat on September 28 to battle the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.

In other Rattlers news, the women’s basketball team fell by a 46-41 final against Rattlers alumni on Saturday night at the ‘Snake Pit.’

Exhibition games continue next weekend for the women’s squad with games in Regina, while their regular season begins on October 19 in Calgary against the St. Mary’s University Lightning.
