Man arrested attempting to use stolen card with officer in line behind him

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat Police have taken a man into custody after a video of an incident was posted on a local businesses Facebook page.

On August 27 around 2:05 p.m. an officer responded to a suspicious person complaint at Yuill Street and Allowance Avenue. When he arrived on scene, he followed a suspicious male into a local business.

With the officer in line behind him, the man attempted to use a stolen credit card. The business owner was notified by the credit card company to contact police after the transaction was denied.

As a result, the officer arrested the 35 year old man, who remains in custody.
