MEDICINE HAT, AB — Nolan Rattai isn’t quite finished with his hometown team.

Three days after playing his final game of collegiate baseball, the Medicine Hat Mavericks confirmed Rattai has been hired as assistant general manager.

Rattai will work under the wing of owner and GM Greg Morrison. Morrison says Rattai will also take on a coaching role for the 2018 WMBL champions next summer, along with added instruction duties in the Mavericks youth baseball camps this winter.

The Medicine Hat product brings plenty of baseball experience as both a coach and player to the organization. Rattai is a three-year Mavericks graduate, helping the team capture its third league championship in 2018.

In his senior campaign this past summer, Rattai was named a WCBL All-Star, posting a regular season batting average of .305 with the third most hits on the team at 68.

After his first season with the Mavericks in 2016, Rattai accepted the head coaching position for the Medicine Hat Majestics of the American Legion program before returning to the team in 2018.
