APARC hosting second Amazing Race Fundraiser

Medicine Hat, AB – If you have ever wanted to take part of the Amazing Race, APARC is giving you the chance to do that and help raise money.

“What you do is it’s a challenge around the city. So you go to different stops, solve the clue, do the challenge at the stop, and get your next clue. It is a timed event. You want to be the fastest one to win.” Said the shelter’s general manager, Kaylyn Genio.

Teams will consist of two to five people and Genio says there are still some spots left for teams.

There will be prizes for the winners of the race as well as those who are able to raise the most through pledges for APARC.

After the race there will be a family friendly party at Kin Coulee Park.

Genio says they wanted to run a fundraiser like this not just to help raise money for the shelter, but get people out in the community.

“I think it’s a big deal in Medicine Hat to come together. We always ask the community for help and they’ve always given back to us. They’ve been really supportive in all our endeavours. Our adoptions, our fosters, all of the fundraising we’ve done.” She continued. “So it’s nice to not only give back a little and help out the businesses do some awareness as well.”

Genio says they are still looking for volunteers to help in a wide variety of roles to help with the event.
