MEDICINE HAT, AB – Battling the rain and the cold, Medicine Hat’s Rattlers Athletic Soccer Club U15 girls team showed why they belong with Alberta’s elite.

Forward Antonina Dumanowski netted a pair of goals at the Family Leisure Centre, giving the Rattlers a Tier III bronze medal at the Alberta Soccer Championships tournament.

RASC was able to take down the Ardrossan Premier U15s with a 5-2 victory in the bronze medal match, reaching the podium at the only provincial tournament hosted by Medicine Hat this year.

Along with Dumanowski’s pair of goals in the victory, the Rattlers were able to pick up goals by Abree Toews, Audyn Mettauer, and Georgia Herter.

Medicine Hat ended their provincial tournament with a 3-1 record, with their only loss coming on Sunday morning in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the McKenzie United Soccer Club.

Dumanowski and Toews tied for the team scoring lead, each netting four goals in four games for the Rattlers.

Provincial gold was won by the Edmonton Storm after posting a 2-0 shutout victory over the MUSC Freedom out of Calgary, who had to settle for silver.

As for the RASC U15 boys club, they earned a fifth place finish at Tier II provincials in Lethbridge.
