Brooks RCMP nab driver going 226 kph on Highway 1

Brooks, AB – On August 9^th, Brooks RCMP were able to catch a 20-year-old man driving 226 kph on Highway 1.

Around 9:45 p.m., a member of the detachment was patrolling Highway 1 when he saw the vehicle heading westbound at high speed.

The Brooks man was recorded on radar at 226 kph and had been passing several other cars.

He is now facing one count of Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance and was released to appear in Brooks Provincial Court on September 25, 2019.
