Police service reminding Crescent Heights residents to take steps to prevent thefts

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Police Service is reminding residents of Crescent Heights to be vigilant, as they’ve noticed a tend of bicycle thefts and vehicle entries in the city in recent days.

The police say the trend has increased throughout the city, but notes in recent days, they have been responding to more calls in Crescent Heights for vehicle break ins and bicycle thefts.

The occurrences have mainly occurred between Thursday to Tuesday between 11 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.

Police say they will augment their resource deployment with the goal of identifying offenders. They’re also asking the public to help out buy making sure their vehicles are locked and all valuables are removed or secured.

Police add if any suspicious activity is observed, it should be reported immediately, either by calling police at 403-529-8481, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submitting tips through the Medicine Hat Police Service’s mobile app.
