MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat police are asking for the public’s help to find a man who allegedly stole a vehicle and fled from police earlier this week.

Police attempted to stop a Ford F-350 on Tuesday at approximately 9:45 a.m. According to police, the truck was allegedly stolen earlier in the day. Police say the truck failed to stop, and police did not pursue the vehicle due to public safety concerns.

Multiple police vehicles entered the area to try and stop the vehicle, but it continued to drive recklessly.

Police have issued a warrant for 36 year old Jason Higdon. The Medicine Hat man is wanted for charges of flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Anyone with information on Higdon’s location is asked to call Medicine Hat police at 403-529-8481 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be submitted through the Medicine Hat Police Service’s mobile app.
