Martin tied for lead at Alberta Women’s Amateur Championship
ACHESON, AB — It took Becky Martin a little while to find her groove at The Ranch Golf Club.
Once she did, the former MHC Rattlers standout returned to the elite-level form Hatter’s have came to expect.
Martin carded an opening round 73, including a one-under 35 on the back-nine, to sit tied for the lead at the 2019 Alberta Women’s Amateur Championship after round one on Tuesday.
The local product regained control of her round after bogies at the first, third, and fifth hole with four straight pars to finish the front nine. Her lone birdie on the day came on the par five 13th amidst a string of 12 pars over her final 13 holes.
