Market at Medalta cancelled for summer

Medicine Hat, AB – For many, a summer tradition is heading down to the Market at Medalta.

That will not being happening this year though.

Medalta has announced that their market will not be running this summer.

Jessica Knodel, marketing and communications coordinator, says instead they will be focusing on other programming like art openings, live music, and kids camps for the summer.

“We had noticed that there was a lot of other markets happening in the city. So when we started the Market at Medalta, it was one of the only ones and people really loved coming down.” She continued. “But as years went on, we noticed that there was less attendance so it was tougher to keep it going.”

Knodel did say that they are hopeful that one day the market will return and that the annual Christmas market will still be held in December.
