Preliminary hearing set for man charged with murder in Bassano

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A Medicine Hat man charged with murder in Bassano will have a preliminary hearing on the charge next year.

Chase Hehr, 36, appeared in Brooks Provincial Court on Wednesday, where a preliminary hearing was scheduled for January 13-16 at Medicine Hat Provincial Court.

A preliminary hearing will determine if there is enough evidence to go to trial.

Hehr was arrested and charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of June Rose, 24.

Rose, originally from Burnaby, B.C., was found dead at a home in Bassano on January 22, 2019.
