Monarchs surging with ‘never give up’ mentality
MEDICINE HAT, AB — The end result may not have gone their way, but the Medicine Hat ‘AA’ Moose Monarchs have plenty of positives to focus on following a 16-inning marathon loss to the Billings Scarlets on Tuesday night.
After beginning the season winless in seven games, the American Legion squad is beginning to find its groove. The Monarchs were one swing away from sweeping the Scarlets after back-to-back victories the previous afternoon. Nonetheless, the crew took the three-game series — their first series victory of the season.
Head coach Skyler Stromsmoe says the key ingredient to their recent success is believing in themselves.
Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports caught up with catcher Reese Whelan and Stromsmoe following Tuesday night’s four-hour affair to hear their thoughts on the game, how the players mindset is creating positive results, and the biggest takeaways they can use moving forward.
