MEDICINE HAT, AB — Thursday morning could mark the beginning of the rest of Tyler Broesky’s hockey career.
The 15-year-old assistant captain for the SEAC Tigers will be hawk-eying the WHL Bantam Draft, hoping to hear his name called.
He has plenty of reasons to believe one of the 22 WHL clubs taking part in the draft will take a chance on him.
Building on a team-leading 36 points in 27 regular season games with SEAC, Broesky was the lone Hatter to play in the prestigious Alberta Cup last week in Red Deer. He chalked up seven points in five games, helping Team Green earn a bronze medal.
His seven notches earned him a tie for fifth in tournament scoring, certainly turning the heads of many scouts and coaches watching from the stands.
