Medicine Hat YMCA receives provincial grant for job training program
MEDICINE HAT, AB —The Employment Centre at the Medicine Hat YMCA has received a provincial contract to help residents find full-time employment.
On Monday, the YMCA announced it was awarded the Transition to Employment contract from the Government of Alberta’s Labour Ministry.
“We’re very excited to receive this funding,” said Sharon Hayward, CEO of the Medicine Hat YMCA. “It helps us expand the employment services we’ve offered to this community since the 1990s.”
According to a news release, the funding will allow the YMCA to assists an additional 360 clients through the program. With the new funding, the program allows participants to access up to $2,500 for re-training for a career they’re interested in.
