Esplanade hosting opening receptions tonight
MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Esplanade will be hosting an opening reception Thursday night to celebrate a pair of photography exhibits, including one from a local artist.
The Esplanade is currently displaying Dianne Bos’ “The Sleeping Green” exhibit, along with Medicine Hat photographer Wes Bell’s exhibit “On the Line,” in its gallery. Both exhibits are part of the Exposure Photography Festival in Alberta.
“It’s been going for a dozen years or so,” said Joanne Marion Director/Curator of Exhibitions and Collections. “It started in Calgary and Banff, but now there’s exhibitions in pretty much every sizable centre in Alberta. We’re really delighted that we can participate this year for the first time.”
Bos, who helped curate the festival, is showcasing her exhibit, which features photography created using pinhole cameras at battle sites during the First World War.
