Large grass fire on HWY 1 between Tilley, AB. and Brooks, AB.

NEWELL COUNTY, AB. – A large grass fire burnt the north side of Hi-way 1 between Brooks, AB. and Tilley, AB.
The grass fire began late Sunday afternoon and fire crews had the fire out by 5:00 P.M.
Some of the ground is still smoldering, with fire and RCMP are on scene.
Be cautious when driving north bound lanes, as emergency crews are on the shoulder of the hi-way.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
