Wolfpack down Thunder 50-0 in first Super 8s game at Lamport Stadium
TORONTO — Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e scored two tries in a five-minute span in the second half as the Toronto Wolfpack downed the Newcastle Thunder 50-0 on Saturday in the fourth round of Kingstone Press League 1’s Super 8s playoffs.
Liam Kay also had two tries, one in each half, for the Wolfpack (17-1-1) and captain Craig Hall had six conversions.
Greg Worthington, Fuifui Moimoi, Rhys Jacks and Blake Wallace had the other tries as Toronto beat the Thunder for the second time this season. They also won 40-22 when the two teams met in Round 7 of the regular season.
The Wolfpack, aiming for one of two promotion spots to the second-tier championship, led 22-0 at halftime in front of 8,522 at Toronto’s Lamport Stadium.
