UPDATE: Montana’s Restaurant suddenly closes

Aug 16, 2017 | 3:13 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A popular restaurant in Medicine Hat has suddenly closed its doors.

The Montana’s restaurant located on Dunmore Road is now closed. A sign posted on the front door of the restaurant did not list a reason for why it closed.

“Cara Operations Limited wishes to advise guests and neighbours that the Montana’s restaurant is now closed,” the sign reads.

“Cara wishes to thank the employees of the Medicine Hat Montana’s restaurant for their hard work and service. Cara also extends gratitude to the guests that have visited this location over the years for their business.”

The sign provides an email address where questions about the closure have been directed.

Cara is Canada’s oldest full service restaurant company, with brands that include Kelsey’s and East Side Mario’s — which also closed in Medicine Hat in recent years.

UPDATE: CHAT Television has received a statement from Cara Operationa Limited, confirming the restaurant, which was operated by a franchisee, was closed on Wednesday.

The statement adds “We look forward to re-opening in the foreseeable future and welcoming back our loyal guests.”

A reason for the closure was not listed in the statement.
