Wolfpack rebound from loss with 68-0 win over Workington in second round
WORKINGTON, United Kingdom — The Toronto Wolfpack rebounded from their first loss of the season in dominant fashion, downing Workington Town 68-0 on Sunday in the second round of the Kingstone Press League 1 Super 8s playoffs.
Blake Wallace scored four tries, Jonny Pownall had two — including one at the last second — and captain Craig Hall added two tries and 10 conversions for Toronto (16-1-0), which had been upset 26-16 at York City last weekend to open the Super 8s.
The league-leading Wolfpack, aiming for one of two promotion spots to the second-tier championship, play the Keighley Cougars next week in the third round.
Jake Emmitt, James Laithwaite, Liam Kay and Quentin Laula Togaga’e also scored tries for Toronto at Derwent Park.
