Medicine Hat hosting badminton South Zone Championship

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The best high school badminton players in southern Alberta are currently battling to determine who will head to provincials next week.

The Alberta Schools Athletic Association South Zones badminton championships are underway today, with games taking place at both the Family Leisure Centre and Medicine Hat High School.

Several local students have the opportunity to travel to Red Deer to represent the South Zone. Local students taking part on the singles side include Hats High’s James Nguyen, Emily Hudson, Irvin Magwali and David Archibald, along with Monsignor McCoy’s Everette Bosch, Austin Berhger, Marie Claire Tungpalen, Sierra Zukowski, Jordyn Fournier and Courtney Lagasse. Eagle Butte High School’s Ty Jans is also competing on the singles side.
