Highway 3 closed due to weather in western Alberta

FORT MACLEOD, AB — Highway 3 is currently closed is several areas due to severe weather.

According to Alberta 511, the Highway is closed heading west from Fort MacLeod to Pincher Station due to reduced visibility from blowing snow. The Highway is also closed in both directions 10 kilometres west of Coleman due to a motor vehicle collision.

A wind warning is in effect for the Crowsnest Pass, Cardston and surrounding areas, according to Environment Canada.

It is not known when the highways will reopen.
