Hounds split weekend set after big comeback win
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Midget AA Hounds improve to 16-12-1 after splitting a weekend set of games.
Saturday, Medicine Hat dropped a tight 4-3 game to the Calgary-based CNHA Blazers. Down 1-0 in the first period, Dawson Hittel and Zachery Dovichak scored to give Medicine Hat a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play. The Blazers took back the lead in the second, to make it a 3-2 Blazers lead heading to the third period. With 12:46 remaining CNHA extended their lead to 4-2. Brett Gray cut the lead to 4-3 with just 46 seconds remaining, but that would be as close as the Hounds would get.
Aiden Gleisner picked up two assists in the loss, while goaltender Dawsen Savage stopped 36 of 40 shots.
Sunday, Medicine Hat finished things off on a winning note, beating the struggling Okotoks Oilers 4-3.
