WestJet Link delayed in Medicine Hat

Feb 1, 2018 | 7:46 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB — WestJet service in Medicine Hat has been delayed.

In a news release late Wednesday, the company announced that WestJet Link, which would provide flights from Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Cranbrook, Prince George and Lloydminster to Calgary, has been delayed to June 22, 2018 in the Gas City.

The news release says Pacific Coastal Airlines, the company WestJet has partnered with for WestJet Link, needs more time to ensure they’re fully able to meet WestJet’s operational requirements. Service was originally scheduled to begin May 31.

“WestJet apologizes to our guests for the inconvenience these delays may cause,” said Brian Znotins, WestJet Vice-President Network Planning, Alliances and Corporate Development, in a statement. “Impacted guests are being offered several different options including alternative transportation to Calgary to embark on their travel from there, obtaining a full refund or changing the date of travel. We again apologize to our guests for this inconvenience and look forward to the launch of our flights from Lethbridge, Lloydminster, Medicine Hat, Cranbrook and Prince George in June.”

WestJet is in the process of contacting all guests whose itineraries have been affected. Anyone with questions is encouraged to please call WestJet (air-only) at 1-888-937-8538 (1-888-WESTJET) or WestJet Vacations at 1-877-737-7001.
