REGINA, SASK. – The Medicine Hat Tigers face off against the Regina Pats for the third time this season. The Tigers and the Pats have split the series so far, each winning 4-2 at home. This will be the 2nd game in a 4 games in 5 days’ road trip for the Tabbies. They won the first game 3-2 over the Saskatoon Blades Wednesday night. The Pats are coming off a 4-3 OT loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Medicine Hat Tigers – Kristians Rubins is the smooth skating and great puck handling defenceman on the Tigers’ blue line. Rubins sees the ice well, reads and reacts to the play and he is very fluid in all aspects of the game. The 20-year-old Latvian born player has 7 points (1G, 6A) in the Tigers’ last 6 games. Look for him to make an impact on both ends of the ice tonight. 

Regina Pats – Robbie Holmes has been having a record year for the Regina Pats with 21 points (12G, 9A). Holmes scored twice for Pats against the Edmonton Oil Kings Wednesday night and will look to get on the score sheet tonight against the Tigers.

In his first year with the Orange and Black, Linus Nassen has been making a name for himself. Hailing from Sweden, Nassen has 22 points in 38 games with the Tigers. The Tabbies blue line also features the towering shut down defenceman Kristians Rubins. Rubins is the first Latvian born player to ever suit up for the Tigers and he has netted 3 goals and 16 assists so far this season.

Protecting the Paint:

The Tigers acquired 18-year-old netminder Jordan Hollett from the Regina Pats in the offseason. Hollett is a 6th round selection of the Ottawa Senators and currently he is sporting a 14-9-2 record with a 3.37 GAA and a .898 SV% The Orange and Black also have veteran goaltender Michael Bullion. Bullion has a 9-7-1 record posting a .877 SV% and a 3.48 GAA.
