The Alberta government says people in the province saved 300 million dollars in energy costs last year.

EDMONTON, AB. – The Alberta government says people in the province saved 300 million dollars in energy costs last year and avoided almost three million tonnes in greenhouse gas emissions.

And it credits its energy efficiency programs.

The province says rebates and incentives to people and businesses looking to become more energy efficient tallied 45 million dollars.

The government says it expects the energy efficiency programs will create 1,200 private sector jobs. (Global Calgary)
