MEDICINE HAT, AB – A historic evening for Medicine Hat Tigers bench boss Shaun Clouston on Saturday, becoming the franchise’s winningest coach ever.

Thanks to a 4-3 overtime victory over the Red Deer Rebels, Clouston earned his 324th career win, passing his mentor Willie Desjardins in the Tigers record books.

It’s been a long road to this point for the Viking, Alberta native with playing stops in Portland, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, and Tulsa.

From there, Clouston coached in the minors for five years before stints behind the bench with the Winterhawks and Tri-City Americans.

The 49-year-old became an assistant coach with the Tigers in 2003, and has been living in Medicine Hat since.

CHAT Sports caught up with the new record-holder after Saturday’s game, alongside veterans Mark Rassell and Michael Bullion to discuss Clouston’s impact on the Tigers organization.
