MEDICINE HAT, AB — You’ve seen the video, but now you can create the freezing bubbles at home during the cold winter days.

Calgary photographer Chris Ratzlaff snapped the above photo and created a video showing bubbles freezing in the cold weather on Boxing Day.

The bubbles have gained a worldwide audience since they were posted.

On Twitter, Ratzlaff received many questions about how he made the bubbles, and posted his recipe for the mixture online for people to try at home

Bubble recipe.

– 200ml warm water

– 35ml corn syrup

– 35ml dish soap

– 2tbs sugar

The sugar creates the crystal-like appearance as the bubble freezes.

A feature on Accuweather says surface temperatures should be below -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit) with very little to no winds to work effectively.
