Guilty plea for man arrested in June 2017 drug investigation

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A man arrested earlier this year in connection with a police investigation targeting street-level drug dealing has pleaded guilty.

Wrayne Wawia pleading guilty to four counts of drug trafficking and one count of possession of stolen property during a recent appearance in Medicine Hat provincial court.

Wawia was among 11 people arrested in June 2017 following a two-month investigation in Medicine Hat. Police seized more than $10,000 worth of drugs during the course of their investigation, including 75 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of heroin, and 15.5 grams of cocaine.

Wawia is back in court for sentencing on March 21, 2018.
