City history on display tonight

Medicine Hat, AB – Some historic homes in Medicine Hat will be featured today, as the Heritage Resources Committee hosts an open house and presentation at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre.
 
People will be able to learn about, and provide their own input on 14 historic buildings that are currently being evaluated for inclusion in the City’s historic resources inventory.
 
Some of the buildings include the Cypress Club, the Canadian Bank of Commerce and the Imperial Bank building, as well as St Patrick’s church.
 
The Higdon residence, Cousin’s log cabin and Porter residence are among the homes to be featured.
 
The Heritage Resources Committee is hosting the open house at the Esplanade today from 4 to 8 pm.
 
There will be a special presentation at 7 pm from project consultants Donald Luxton and Associates.
