MEDICINE HAT, AB – Rolling off the momentum of ‘SEAC Day’ at the Hockey Hounds Rink, the SEAC Tigers’ two teams played some of their best hockey of the season on Saturday.

In the early game, the SEAC Bantam AAA Tigers were hoping to end a two-game losing streak and pick up their first win since October 21.

Taking on the Calgary AAA Flames, the Tigers pounced out to a 1-0 lead just over five minutes into the contest, with Caleb Wyrostok continuing his excellent season with a power play goal.

Calgary was able to answer back with 10:49 left in the first period, as Jayden Davis put one past SEAC’s Marek Andres to knot the game at 1-1 through one period of play.

Wyrostok put the Tigers back into the driver’s seat at almost at the exact same point of the second period, scoring on the power play once again to put SEAC ahead 2-1.

The man advantage continued to press on for the Tigers in the second period, as blueliner Tanner Gold potted one with 9:23 left in the frame to increase their lead to a pair of goals.

The Flames cut into SEAC’s lead again early in the third period on the power play, getting a marker from Jace Benvie to make it a 3-2 contest.

However, SEAC put this game away with 1:26 remaining thanks to an unassisted effort from Vaughn Strutt to secure a 4-2 victory for the Tigers.

Andres had a strong evening with just two goals allowed on 35 shots against for his fourth win of the season.

Now 5-6-2 on the year, the Tigers head to Calgary to take on the AAA Bisons on Sunday and will try to improve on their fourth-place standing in the Ram South Division.

The Midget 15 Tigers were also in action on Saturday, still looking for their first victory of the season against CNHA Canucks.

It didn’t take long for SEAC to grab the lead, as Connor Miller scored just 70 seconds into the game to put the Tigers on the board 1-0.

That was followed up with another goal less than three minutes later off the stick of SEAC’s Cam Hall to double the Tigers lead to 2-0.

With 3:57 remaining in the first, the Tigers got their third goal of the game courtesy of Gavin Schroeder to conclude a wild opening 20 minutes for SEAC.

The Canucks finally lit the lamp on the power play just over two minutes into the second period, closing the SEAC lead to 3-1 with Jordan Butz marker.

Unfazed by the Canucks goal, SEAC responded just 46 seconds later off the stick of Hall for his second of the game and a 4-1 advantage.

A few minutes later, Dre Lesmeister kept the Tigers train rolling with the 5-1 goal, which was the score as both teams headed to the second intermission.

For good measure, Hall completed the hat-trick 1:24 into the third period to make it a 6-1 final score for the Tigers, securing their first victory of the season.

Gage Reimer was exceptional for SEAC, stopping all but one of the 37 Canucks shots he faced on Saturday.

Moving out of the basement of the South Division and into 12th place with a 1-9-1 record, the Midget 15 Tigers are off for a couple of weeks and will host the AC Avalanche out of Cochrane on November 18.
