City sets energy rates for November

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The natural gas rate is going up, while the electricity rate is going down for the month of November.

All customers will pay $1.87 per gigajoule for natural gas, up from $1.60/GJ in October. The rate is based on the average of monthly gas charges set by Alberta gas distribution owners and Gas Albertas Inc.

The electricity rate is set at $0.0355 per kilowatt hour, which is down from $0.0366 per kilowatt hour last month. This rate applies to residential homes, farms, small and medium commercial businesses, unmetered services and rental lighting.
