MEDICINE HAT, AB — The man charged in connection with the dangerous driving death of an 18-year-old woman last month had his bail hearing adjourned once again.

Cody David Michell, 25, appeared briefly via closed circuit television in Medicine Hat provincial court on Tuesday, where his matters were adjourned to Thursday.

Michell was arrested on September 11, after an afternoon of mayhem in Crescent Heights. He is alleged to have stolen a truck and trailer from a home on Bassett Crescent NW. The truck was involved in two collision on 12 Street NE.

The first collision, which occurred near Crescent Heights High School, saw a minivan end up flipped on its side. The occupants of the van sustained minor injuries.

The truck continues down 12th Street, where it collided with a Toyota Camry on Parkview Drive. The 18-year-old driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michell was taken into custody following the second collision.

He has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death, two counts of hit and run, one count of dangerous driving, one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and one count of attempting to disarm a police officer. The last charge stems from an alleged incident at the Medicine Hat hospital, where Michell was receiving treatment.
