No injuries after bank robbed in Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, ALTA- Police are investigating after a bank in the Gas City was robbed on Thursday afternoon.

According to a news release issued by the Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS), the incident took place at the Royal Bank of Canada building, located at 2901 13 Avenue SE around 6:50 p.m. on Thursday evening.

A man had walked into the bank, producing a note demanding cash. While no weapon was indicated or seen, the man received an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank in an older dark coloured truck, which was last seen southbound at 13 Avenue.

Officers were not able to locate the man. No injuries were reported from the robbery.

The suspect is described as being around 50 to 60 years in age, with a large build and a scruffy face. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a dirty green ball cap with white on it, as well as dark coloured pants and shoes with a red and black plaid jacket.
