MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat College Rattlers have a lofty advantage heading into the ACAC South Regional Golf Tournament this weekend.

Not only are several players coming off impressive North Regional performances in Camrose, but the circuit shifts it’s focus to Desert Blume Golf Club for South Regionals — the home of the Rattlers.

After carding an opening round 77 in Camrose last Saturday, Rattlers men’s golfer Matt Taylor rebounded with an impressive 71 on day two to finish tied for first at North Regionals. The fifth-year is in prime position to make a run at a provincial championship in the coming weeks.

On the women’s side, MHC’s Nicole Schultz broke 90 in both rounds to finish tied for fifth place last weekend. The Olds native’s two-day total of 175 was just 11 shots back of Shaye Leidenius of Red Deer College, who finished on top of the leaderboard.
