Province grants funding for Irvine infrastructure

IRVINE, ALTA- Cypress County has gotten its grant money.

According to a letter included in the latest agenda for Cypress County council, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs has accepted the county’s application for funding under the Municipal Sustainability Initiative. A total of $1,250,000 has been granted for road rehabilitation in Irvine, and $4,517,241 for deep utilities in the hamlet.

The total grant adds up to $5,767,241.

The letter was sent on July 28, 2017, to Reeve Darcy Geigle by MLA Shay Anderson, the minister for municipal affairs.

“As partners in supporting Alberta’s communities, I look forward to working together to move your infrastructure priorities forward,” wrote Anderson.

A timeline for the infrastructure work was not included in the agenda.
