One dead following Trans-Canada Highway collision near Strathmore

STRATHMORE, AB – One person is dead following a motor vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Strathmore Tuesday morning.
According to a news release Tuesday morning, RCMP are currently on the scene of a collision involving a tractor trailer unit and a tow truck. The driver of the tow truck has been pronounced dead at the scene. In addition to RCMP, Occupational Health and Safety has been engaged in the investigation.
The westbound lanes of Highway One east of Strathmore remain closed as police work to complete the investigation. Travellers are asked to find an alternate route.
