EDMONTON, AB. – Cordell Brown the father of 5-month old baby boy who died in a house fire on Tuesday, was arrested over an “unrelated” matter said police.
On Friday night, Brown was arrested and then released a few hours later. He contacted Global News and said he was arrested for arson in connection with the deadly blaze then released on a promise to appear in court next Thursday.
Brown’s son, Hunter Brown, died due to smoke inhalation in a deliberately set house fire in the Ambleside neighbourhood. His wife, Angie Tang, remains in hospital with serious injuries as a result of smoke inhalation.
Police are investigating the fire as a homicide and arson.
