MEDICINE HAT, AB. – Electors who are unable to attend their voting station on Election Day, October 16th or any of the advance voting starting on October 7th, can now apply to vote by Special Ballot.

Applicants will be asked to identify their inability to vote due to either physical incapacity, absence from the city or being involved in the election or campaign.

City council recently authorized the ability to vote through a Special Ballot as a way to expand accessibility and ensure all eligible voters are able to take part in selecting their local representatives.

The Election Coordinator will receive applications for Special Ballots, and packages will be available after nomination day  on September 18.

Individual electors will then mark their ballot, attach their authorized identification and mail or return the ballot to the Returning Officer by 4:30 pm on Election Day October 16.
