K Days ride shut down as precaution

EDMONTON, AB –  One of the most popular midway rides at this week’s K-Days fair in Edmonton has been shut down as a precaution after a deadly accident on the same ride in Columbus, Ohio.

One person was killed and seven others were injured yesterday when an attraction called the Fire Ball broke apart at the Ohio State Fair.

Video captured by a bystander shows the ride crashing into something and breaking apart, throwing riders to the ground.

Northlands, which oversees K-Days, says it supports a decision by the fair’s midway provider to close the Fire Ball ride until further notice.
