Trudeau forgets to mention Alberta in Canada Day speech

Jul 2, 2017 | 10:28 AM

EDMONTON,AB — Some Albertans who attended Canada Day activities at the provincial legislature in Edmonton have advice for the prime minister after he forgot the province during a speech on Parliament Hill.

Trudeau omitted Alberta while reciting the names of the provinces, but later apologized.

Many people in Edmonton shrugged it off as an oversight.

But Manuel Goncalves says Trudeau should remember Alberta is where the big money comes from for the economy.

Conservative M-P Michelle Rempel, who represents a Calgary riding, told an audience yesterday in a video she posted to Facebook that if we’re going to celebrate the things that unite us, we cannot forget Alberta.
