LETHBRIDGE —The man accused of murdering three people, including a two-year-old girl, in the Crowsnest Pass in 2015 entered not guilty pleas to the charges today in a Lethbridge Court.

Derek Saretzky, 24, is facing three charges of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette, 2, her father Terry, 27, and Hanna Meketech, 69 in September 2015.

An Amber Alert was issued after Terry Blanchette’s body was found on Sept. 14.

One day later, Hailey’s body was found in a rural area outside of Blairmore.

Meketech’s body was found in her home in Coleman on Sept. 9.  Saretzky was charged with first-degree murder in connection with Meketech’s death last April.

Saretzky is in court for a voir dire hearing, which will determine the admissibility of evidence and is scheduled to last the entire week. Details of the proceedings are under a publication ban.

The actual trial is set to begin May 29.
