Local man charged with sexual assault on minors

MEDICINE HAT,AB — A 57 year old Medicine Hat man has been charged with several sexual assault charges involving minors.

According to court documents and information supplied by the Medicine Hat Police, Malcolm Gregory Zora is facing six counts of sexually touching a person under the age of 16 years, and six counts of sexual assault.

The files involving Zora were part of the set mentioned in a previous Chat News story.

The charges were laid on February 23, 2017, while the offences allegedly took place between September 1, 2015, and December 31, 2015.

The first scheduled court appearance by Zora on the charges took place on March 23, 2017, and with the latest appearance coming through the Medicine Hat Provincial Court on May 2. The matter has been adjourned to May 30, with no plea yet entered.

A bail of $1500 has been set, with conditions.

Under the conditions, he is barred from communicating with the complainants, being within a block radius of two local schools, barred from owning, carrying, or having any weapons in his possession other than cutlery for a meal, and banned from owning any firearms or explosives.
