Cypress County lifts fire control order

Apr 19, 2017 | 4:35 PM

CYPRESS COUNTY, AB — Cypress County announced Wednesday afternoon it is lifting the current fire advisory in the region.

The recent precipitation received through southeastern Alberta has allowed the county to lift the order, which has been in place since March 24.

Fire permits are once again being issued, though the county reminds residents to maintain extreme caution around fires and adds all permitted burning must be supervised by an adult. The lifting of the order does not impact any existing fire orders in cities and towns in the region, and does not affect fire bans in provincial parks.

The current list of fire bans in the province can be viewed at www.albertafirebans.ca.
