EDMONTON — Edmonton Police say two men are facing more than 65 charges, including attempted murder, after being found covered in blood getting off an elevator in an apartment building.

According to police, at approximately 2 p.m., officers responded to a suite near 173 Street and 69 Avenue after receiving multiple calls from neighbours regarding a disturbance in a nearby suite.

Upon arrival, police found two men covered in blood stepping out of the elevator. The two men were taken in for questioning and eventually arrested in connection with an assault on a 34-year-old man.

The man was found in a suite in the building, suffering from multiple stab and blunt force trauma wounds. The man was taken to hospital and is in critical condition following emergency surgery. Police also found several others in the suite, with their wrists zip-tied, suffering from non life-threatening injuries. Police believe the incident was drug related.

Trevor Auger, 36, and Jason Hope, 38, have been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, three counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, five counts of unlawful confinement, five counts of forcible confinement, two counts of robbery, and multiple weapons offences.
