PINCHER CREEK — The 53-year old man who was arrested following an eight hour standoff with RCMP in Pincher Creek on Feb. 8, has been taken into custody once again.

Dewey Todd Starzyk was arrested without incident on Apr. 1 at a residence in Coleman.

Police report that they received information from a member of public regarding an incident that occurred in the first week of February — before the standoff — but were not able to elaborate further.

Starzyk faces charges of robbery with a firearm, careless use of a firearm, carrying a weapon while committing an offence, uttering death threats and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He also faces three new charges for failing to comply with bail conditions, which were imposed in connection with the Feb. 8 incident.

Starzyk will remain in custody, with his next appearance set for Thursday.
