RED DEER, AB — The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has a charged a Red Deer RCMP officer with sexual assault and breach of trust following an investigation.

Constable Jason Tress is facing the sexual assault charges in connection with incidents in 2012 and 2016. He is also charged with two counts of criminal breach of trust in connection with two incidents in 2016.

ASIRT began its investigation last July after an allegation of sexual assault on a woman by an RCMP officer was reported.

During the course of the investigation, ASIRT became aware of two additional unrelated incidents and commenced investigations into both. It is alleged two of the three incidents occurred while Tress was engaged in the execution of his duties as an RCMP officer.
