Police arrest six residents after drugs, shotgun seized from residence

MEDICINE HAT, AB —Six Medicine Hat residents are facing numerous drug and weapons charges after an investigation Thursday evening.

According to a police statement, members of ALERT’s organized crime team, which features members of the Medicine Hat Police Service, made the arrests after a search at a residence in the 1100 block of Dominion Street SE and a nearby vehicle.

Police seized a loaded shotgun, ammunition and body armour, along approximately $4,000 worth of methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl and proceeds of crime.

One of the accused has been released from custody for a court appearance on April 26. The remaining five suspects remain in custody awaiting a bail hearing. The names of the six suspects will be released after the conclusion of the Judicial Interim Release hearing.
