Rattlers win bronze at CCAA volleyball championship

LONDON, ON – The Medicine Hat College men’s volleyball team are coming home with a CCAA medal.

The Rattlers topped the Fanshaw College Falcons in a marathon match in London during the final weekend of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association tournament, winning in five sets at Fanshawe College (25-20, 22-25, 23-25, 25-23, 21-19). 

Isak Helland-Hansen finished the game with 20 kills for his team, while Joel Kotyk had 17 kills and Brodie Dolter had 14. Cole Sanderson led the way with 61 assists for the team.

James Jackson led the Falcons with 29 kills, while Sam Otten had 20. Sebastian Lethbridge led the Falcons with 58 assists.

The Red Deer College Kings, who topped the Rattlers at the ACAC Volleyball championship earlier this month, won the gold medal on Saturday, topping the Cegep Limoilou Titans rom Quebec City in five sets (25-21, 25-18, 24-26, 24-26, 15-12).
